Equipment availability does not permit every service
A bed and trolley do not mean you can freely use your own devices or aromatic products. Before hiring a room for independent or part-time work, check both the venue rules and your own qualifications and permitted scope. SALON by HOGUGU is in Azabu-Juban; therapists working around Roppongi should give clients the correct venue address.
Restrictions in the official FAQ
The official FAQ checked on 23 October 2026 prohibits flame-based items such as moxa, incense and candles; strongly scented services such as mugwort steaming and nail services; and powered devices such as HIFU and hair-removal equipment. Scented products are also restricted. Do not assume that a small quantity or a compact device is an exception.
Distinguish installed equipment from your own devices
The equipment page lists items such as an electric treatment bed and a towel warmer. Permission to use installed equipment does not establish permission to bring a powered device. Divide your requirements into venue equipment, items you will bring, and prohibited or unconfirmed items. Resolve the unconfirmed items before accepting client bookings for that service.
Non-powered tools still need a specific check
The FAQ discusses non-powered tools such as gua sha and tok sen separately from powered equipment. A tool name alone does not establish permission for the whole service or its legal status. Explain the actual use, noise, cleaning method and possible contact with the bed or floor when enquiring.
Include four details in your enquiry
Describe the service, the product and whether it uses power or heat or produces a scent, where and how many items you will use, and your cleaning and removal method. For example: “I plan clothed relaxation care and would like to bring [non-powered tool]. It will be used in [way], makes [noise], and will be cleaned by [method]. Does this fit the venue rules?” This is an enquiry template, not permission to use the item.
Reflect the answer in your client menu
Do not accept bookings for a service the venue cannot accommodate. Consider a suitable service without the prohibited item or find an appropriate venue. Facility approval and your own authority to provide a service are separate questions. Avoid casually promising treatment or symptom improvement in your menu copy.
Frequently asked questions
Is a lightly scented product allowed?
Do not decide from scent strength alone. Describe the product and its use and ask.
Does renting a room permit every treatment?
No. Check the prohibited activities and your qualifications and permitted scope.
