How Long Should You Rent a Treatment Room? Planning Setup, Sessions and Cleanup

予約時間を計画する手帳、時計、タオルのイメージ / Planner, clock and towels for scheduling a treatment room

When booking a treatment room, allow time for setup, welcoming your client, changing and cleanup as well as the session itself. A 60-minute treatment does not necessarily fit into a 60-minute room booking.

This guide explains how to build a practical schedule for an hourly rental salon. The timetable below is an example for planning, rather than a required schedule. Check the venue’s current rules for access, cleaning and booking increments before reserving.

Add the work before and after the session

Start by listing everything that needs to happen inside the room: preparing the treatment bed and towels, checking equipment, welcoming your client, providing the session, taking payment, cleaning and returning the room to its required condition. If you use oil, include time for wiping surfaces and handling used linen.

Do not assume you can enter before your booking starts. Plan to complete setup and cleanup within your reserved time, and confirm how to enter, when you must leave and how extensions are handled.

Example: a 60-minute session within a two-hour booking

TimeActivityDuration
14:00–14:15Enter, check supplies and set up15 min
14:15–14:25Welcome, consultation and changing10 min
14:25–15:25Treatment session60 min
15:25–15:40Changing, payment and farewell15 min
15:40–15:55Clean, organise supplies and reset15 min
15:55–16:00Final checks and departure5 min

This example totals 120 minutes. SALON by HOGUGU does not require every booking to follow this schedule or last two hours. The time you need will depend on your service, first-visit explanations, equipment and payment method. Allow for finding your way around when using a room for the first time.

Separate the client’s arrival time from the treatment duration

The start of your room booking and your client’s arrival do not have to be the same. Set an arrival time that leaves room for preparation, and explain the session length and expected departure time separately.

In the example above, the room booking starts at 14:00 and the client is asked to arrive at 14:15. Follow the venue’s rules for reception and waiting areas, and agree on what to do if a client arrives early.

Leave a changeover period between clients

For consecutive appointments, multiplying the treatment length by the number of clients may not leave enough time. Add changing, payment, towel replacement, cleaning and preparation for the next client to your day’s schedule.

Another therapist may have booked the room immediately after you. Do not rely on an extension being available. Decide how you will handle late arrivals or service changes, and contact the venue if a booking adjustment is needed.

What to check before renting in Azabu-Juban

SALON by HOGUGU’s official rental salon information offers bookings from one hour. Check the latest rates and booking conditions, then list the equipment you need and any items you will bring yourself.

Some towels and consumables carry an additional charge. Confirm quantities, availability and instructions for handling used items so you can estimate your preparation and cleanup time. See the equipment and amenities guide and rental salon overview for more details.

Frequently asked questions

How long should I rent a room for a 60-minute treatment?
Add the time you need for setup, welcoming and changing, payment and cleanup. The two-hour schedule above is one example; the right booking length depends on your service and the venue’s rules.

Can I set up before my booking starts?
Early access is not always available. Plan to prepare within your booking and confirm the venue’s entry and exit rules.

Can I extend the booking if cleanup takes longer?
This depends on availability and venue policy. Plan to finish cleanup and leave by the end of your reservation, and ask the venue if you need to change your booking.
